International tax

Get clarity on foreign income, accounts, and assets.

We help U.S. taxpayers identify cross-border reporting obligations, prepare disclosures alongside their tax returns, and address prior years when filings were missed.

Discuss your needs

Missed filings from prior years

We review the facts and assess whether an IRS procedure, such as the Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures or a delinquent international information return submission, fits your situation. We prepare the required returns, FBARs, and disclosures and coordinate the submission.

Foreign bank account reporting (FBAR)

We review the combined balances of foreign financial accounts during the year, including bank and brokerage accounts, certain retirement accounts, joint accounts, and accounts over which you have signature authority. We determine whether an FBAR is required and prepare it when applicable.

FATCA and Form 8938

We review specified foreign financial assets and determine whether Form 8938 is required based on your filing status and residency. We coordinate it with the FBAR and income tax return where applicable.

Foreign investments and PFICs

We review foreign mutual funds, ETFs, and other pooled investments for passive foreign investment company treatment. We evaluate available elections and prepare Form 8621 when required.

Gifts, inheritances, and foreign trusts

We review gifts and property from overseas relatives, funds contributed toward a purchase, foreign inheritances, and trust transactions or distributions for disclosure requirements, including Form 3520 where applicable.

India tax returns

We assist clients in the U.S. and elsewhere, including nonresident Indians and Overseas Citizens of India, with Indian tax matters. We work with chartered accounting firms in India on tax, accounting, and regulatory needs.

Foreign property

We help report rental income and calculate gains on sales, taking into account currency conversion, acquisition cost or inherited basis, and available foreign tax credits. We also help identify records to support the basis.

Foreign business interests

We assess ownership, control, and entity type to determine which information returns are required for foreign corporations, partnerships, or disregarded entities. This includes family businesses and dormant entities.

Bringing funds into the U.S.

We review the source of the funds, such as savings, sale proceeds, gifts, inheritances, or business and investment income. We help determine reporting requirements and assemble documentation for source-of-funds questions.

Coordination with your U.S. return

One team prepares your domestic return and cross-border disclosures so the income, credits, and elections are handled together.
